America Speaking Out?

Winston Churchill said that “the best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter.”  If you spend a few minutes on the site linked below, you may decide Churchill was right.  The site was put up by congressional Republicans to generate ideas for different policy initiatives–unfortunately, one of the first initiatives to bubble up from the masses involved repealing parts of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  I suspect the Republicans are going to need to hire a few full-time staffers with a good working knowledge of their keyboards’ delete keys to keep the site scrubbed enough for general consumption.  Here’s the site:

I clicked around for a few minutes and found a poster suggesting we balance the budget by taxing abortions.  800,000 abortions per year taxed at $1000.00 per would yield $800 billion, or so the argument went.  Just what we need–public policy ideas from somebody who thinks they can solve the country’s budget problems, but can’t multiply.  Sigh.
